Pour: 1 personne
- A piece of ciabatta bread cut in half (or kaiser roll)
- Melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 4 Bacon slices
- 2 slices of cheddar (or American cheese)
- A touch of hot sauce
Cook the bacon and fried eggs in a hot, oiled skillet.
Just before the eggs are done, place the bacon slices on top, then the cheddar. Cover and continue cooking for another 2 minutes, or until the cheddar cheese melts. Place everything on the slice of bread previously brushed with melted butter. Pour a pinch of hot sauce and close. Enjoy immediately.
In the movie, the sandwich is made with American cheese. Cheddar works great at home, but will give a slightly different flavor.
The bread shown on screen is a soft, buttery, golden bun. The ciabatta used in this version is a homemade adaptation.
To get crispy bacon, start cooking over medium heat and let the fat melt gradually.
Toast the bread in a small amount of bacon fat and butter: this step adds a lot of taste.
Serve immediately. This sandwich is significantly better when the cheese is still melted and the bread warm.
